WATER WORKS ... Jamie Cullen, who has teamed up with the charity Drop for Drop to donate money to build a well in Africa.
A BUSINESSMAN is hoping to give something back after teaming up with a charity.
Jamie Cullen, who owns Mobile Car Spa, had pledged to donate 20p from every valet and detailing treatment he does to Drop4Drop.
The organisation works to fund sustainable clean water solutions to countries that need it most.
Jamie, 25, said: “I’ve wanted to do something for charity for a long time and I thought this partnership would be a good idea. Obviously I use a lot of water at work, so I thought helping people who don’t have it to get it was a good way for me to help out.”
Jamie, from Whiteleas, South Shields, added: “We can just turn the tap on here and clean water comes out, so I think that it is something people take for granted.
People living in some countries have no choice but to drink dirty water or to walk for miles to a well to get water. The money that I’m donating is going to help build a well in Zambia, in Africa, and hopefully it will make a big difference to people’s lives.
“It will be much healthier and much safer for them and hopefully the children won’t have to walk as far to get water meaning they can go to school and get an education.
“I’m also hoping my customers will help out by donating anything they can to the cause.”
