South Tyneside based car cleaning boss has sights on national success

A South Tyneside-based entrepreneur has set himself ambitious plans to expand his Mobile Car Spa business nationwide.
Jamie Cullen has always wanted to have his own company, and because of his passion for cars he decided to set up Mobile Car Spa.

The firm has gone from strength to strength and he has expanding by offering franchises. Last year, he took on his first franchisee Chris Keir. This year, he took on two more franchisees Jordan Kane, in June, and Ryan Dawson.
Mr Cullen said: “I’ve always wanted to offer customers affordable car valeting and detailing services, with the convenience of allowing them to choose where and when. I’ve always had a passion for cars and it’s a passion which is shared by each of my franchisees.”
He now has ambitious plans to expand his business nationwide and has enlisted the support of The Franchise Alliance.
His company is also helping to raise cash for charity Drop4Drop, which funds a water project for a community in Zambia by donating 20p from every car cleaned to the cause.
Mr Cullen, a former Harton Comprehensive School pupil, added: “As we use water on a daily basis for the cleaning of vehicles it’s easy to take water for granted.
“That’s why we have teamed up with Drop4Drop to help make a difference to those who don’t have drinking water.
“Mobile Car Spa and Drop4Drop are partnering to fund a much-needed water project for a community in Zambia.”
Franchisees receive assistance in helping them to secure low-cost finance as well as ongoing support, mentoring and training.
Mr Keir said: “I joined the Mobile Car Spa franchise in March 2015 and haven’t looked back. The induction training was very informative and helped me brush up and gain new skills.
“The ongoing support is helpful and readily available. “I have had bookings from day one and I am gaining new customers constantly. I feel I am part of an ambitious network with exciting benefits and rewards.”
Mobile Car Spa covers Tyne & Wear, Northumberland, County Durham, Newcastle and surrounding areas.
Services range from a quick exterior wash or interior clean, to a whole showroom interior and exterior makeover.
